HauntCon 2007 May 3rd-6th Hyatt Regency Dearborn, MI
I Attended HauntCon with my wife Anna in May. This was my first HauntCon. (Though I have been to Transworld before.) The convention consisted of three days of seminars, an excellent tradeshow, fabulous tours of three top area haunts and a Haunted Costume Ball on Saturday night. We had a great time and I learned a lot from the excellent seminar presenters. The Hyatt Regency  Dearborn staff was great and the facillity was really top notch. The hotel even had our room key cards printed with the HauntCon logo. One of the best parts of the Con was observing the unsuspecting hotel guests who were there for a regular visit and were not aware of a haunted convention in town. We overheard one little boy telling his father that he was going to tell everyone at home that he stayed at the Haunted Hotel. The creativity, socializing, and just plain energy of all those haunters in the same place was just wonderful! I commend Leonard Pickel and his wife Jeanne (and many others on the crew behind the scenes) of Haunted Attraction Magazine for putting on a very enjoyable weekend of haunting fun and education!  I defintely plan to attend the next HauntCon next year in Houston Tx.

These scenic props are paintings only! Though they look very three dimensional. These were done by Nick Collins of SeeNickDesign Who gave a seminar on scenic painting.

What better place to keep your pet tarantula than under your hat!
This was definitely a disturbingly creative costume, (Quite an airbrush job.)
SPFX Masks were amazing! (Wish I had enough money to get one! They run about $600. Maybe next year)
