Kingsbury Cemetery Haunted House Volunteers

Do you love Haunted Houses? Halloween? Horror? Theater? Acting? Construction? Makeup? Special Effects? Do you like being part of a creative team that really really enjoys what they do? Do you want to scare the living crap out of total strangers? Then maybe you can be one of us!

We are always looking for energetic, responsible and reliable volunteers to help with the construction and operation of Kingsbury Cemetery Haunted House.
Previous experience is helpful but not required. A love of the genre and a desire to help are all you need to get started. We supply the training, and all the materials. Food is provided for volunteers during operations. It is required that new Volunteers come to our one day Ghoul Skool in September, and a few of our construction days to become familiar with the haunted house during daylight hours. All volunteers are invited to our recognition event at the conclusion of the season as well as other team activities during the year.

There are volunteer positions available for the 2012 season for construction, acting, special effects and lighting, sound, makeup and costuming, ticket booth, queue line entertainment, and security/crowd control. (Note: Not all volunteer positions require costumes and acting.)

If you live in the Corning/Elmira NY area and are interested please contact us Via e-mail at caretaker@kingsburycemetery.com We will contact you and put you on our Volunteer Mailing List

Announcing
Kingsbury Cemetery's Fourth Annual Ghoul Skool Class

Each year we have ALL volunteers to meet for our annual Ghoul Skool, our one day volunteer/acting seminar on a Saturday in September.  Over the past three years our volunteer actors at Kingsbury Cemetery have taken their scare-acting up to a whole new level by attending our annual Ghoul Skool. The days activities will include plans for this years haunt, a haunted house acting seminar, character development, (your haunt character that is, not your own, we cant be held responsible for that!), makeup demos, costuming, signups for this years schedule, and Haunted House safety training. At the end we have a Ghoul Skool "graduation ceremony" with special "diplomas". Trust us, you will enjoy this Skool! You’ll make new friends, catch up with old ones, have some great food and fellowship and learn a whole heck of a lot about working in a Haunted House! Acting out in this Skool is encouraged and won't get you in trouble with your teacher!

Pre-registration for Ghoul Skool is required! If you have helped at Kingsbury Cemetery in the past and would like to help again this year, or of you are a completely new volunteer, please contact us at caretaker@kingsburycemetery.com or at 962-7212.
